Newcastle College University Centre Spring Graduation 2025

If your degree course started in January 2023, June 2023 or September 2023, you will be attending the Spring Graduation Ceremony 2025 on Tuesday 25 March 2025.

Spring Graduation ceremonies will take place on Tuesday 25 March 2025.

The specific details for each Spring Graduation ceremony are listed above.

All Spring Graduation ceremonies will take place at Newcastle Civic Centre, Sandyford Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8PU.

Student tickets and guest tickets for Spring Graduation 2025 will go on sale at 10.00am, Thursday 16 January 2025.

All ticket sales will end at 12.00pm, Thursday 20 February 2025, unless they sell out before that date. If this happens, ticket sales will close immediately and you will not be able to buy any more student or guest tickets, even if you are ordering tickets before the deadline.

The start time for your Spring Graduation ceremony will vary depending on which ceremony you are attending.

Details of the specific timings of each Spring Graduation ceremony are provided above. 

Every graduating student will need to buy a £39 student ticket for themselves. The ticket cost includes the price of hiring a cap, gown and hood for your Spring Graduation ceremony, which must be returned once the formal ceremony ends.

Guest tickets can be purchased at £12 each. All guests, including babies and children younger than 18 years old, must have their own ticket to be admitted into the ceremony.

Each student can book up to two guest tickets for their Spring Graduation ceremony. All tickets are non-transferable.

We strongly advise that you book your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as tickets may sell out before the deadline or 12.00pm, Thursday 20 February 2025. If tickets remain after ticket sales close, we may offer a limited number of extra guest tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, but this is not guaranteed. There is no waiting list for extra guest tickets.

Please note we work to strict venue capacities set by Newcastle Civic Centre for health and safety reasons. 

If any guest tickets remain unsold after ticket sales end at 12.00pm, Thursday 20 February 2025, then we may offer a limited number of extra guest tickets on a first-come, first-served basis (so we cannot offer a waiting list for extra guest tickets). However, if tickets sell out by or before the deadline above, we will not be able to offer any extra guest tickets under any circumstances.

If available, any extra guest tickets will go on sale at 10.00am, Tuesday 25 February 2025. You will receive an announcement email when the tickets are available to purchase.

Yes - each guest must have their own guest ticket to attend Spring Graduation, no matter their age. This is because we work to a strict number capacity in the venue, which is dictated by Newcastle Civic Centre.

All guest tickets are priced at £12 each. We recommend babies and children younger than four years old do not attend any Spring Graduation ceremonies due to the length and formal nature of the ceremony. If you need to bring a baby with you, please let us know by emailing graduation@ncl-coll.ac.uk when you book your tickets so we can accommodate space for prams.

No - unfortunately, there is no waiting list for extra guest tickets for any Spring Graduation ceremonies.

Extra guest tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and once sold out (which may happen before the planned deadline) we cannot issue any more tickets under any circumstances. If you want extra guest tickets, we strongly recommend you book your desired tickets as soon as they become available, if they become available. You will receive an announcement email confirming their release in late February. 

No - unfortunately, guest tickets are non-transferable.

No - there is strictly no entry to Newcastle Civic Centre without a valid ticket for your Spring Graduation ceremony.

To gain entry to the Graduation Hall, all guests must produce a valid ticket (digital or printed) to be scanned by our Graduation Team. Photocopies of an existing ticket will not be accepted.

Please note it is your responsibility to ensure your guests have their tickets to show at the venue on the day. Tickets are non-transferable and can only be accepted once.

Please email our Graduation Team at graduation@ncl-coll.ac.uk with your full name, student number, degree title, Graduation ceremony and details of any access requirements you or your guests will need as soon as you book your tickets. 

If you are graduating student and haven't bought a student ticket for your Spring Graduation ceremony, you will not be able to attend that ceremony.

If you have bought guest tickets but have not bought a student ticket for yourself, please email graduation@ncl-coll.ac.uk so we can organise your ticket refund.

Gown hire is £39. This price includes your gown, mortar board (cap) and hood, all of which are included in the cost of your student ticket. All gowns, caps and hoods are rented, so you cannot take them away with you.

Gowns are available for collection from Newcastle Civic Centre on the day of your Spring Graduation ceremony. You are required to return these within 30 minutes of your formal ceremony ending. 

No - your cap, gown and hood are all rented and must be returned within 30 minutes of your Spring Graduation ceremony ending, or else you may face additional charges. The £39 cost is only to hire your gown for the duration of your ceremony.

Yes - you can book your Spring Graduation photography package with Academy Graduations.

Yes - you can take personal photos and videos during the Spring Graduation ceremony.

However, we ask that you be considerate of other guests while taking pictures, and not to disrupt any speeches.

Yes - light refreshments will be served after each Spring Graduation ceremony and an on-site bar is available which is manned by Newcastle Civic Centre staff.

No - unfortunately, there is no on-site parking available at Newcastle Civic Centre.

While parking in Newcastle City Centre is limited, nearby car parks include multi-storeys at John Dobson Street, Eldon Gardens, Percy Street (near John Lewis), The Gate (Stowell Street) and there is a small car park near the City Hall.

Please allow plenty of time for parking on the day of your Spring Graduation ceremony.

No - if you have any outstanding academic fees, you will be unable to attend your Spring Graduation ceremony. You should contact Credit Control (email: creditcontrol@ncgrp.co.uk) if you are still in receipt of reminder statements and your IT/Library accounts are blocked.

It is recommended that you dress smartly and wear something with a button front to attach your Graduation hood. It is also recommended you wear appropriate and comfortable footwear as you will need to walk up a few stairs onto the stage to collect your award.

Registration takes place in the main entrance of Newcastle Civic Centre. There will be signs to direct you to the appropriate building, and our Graduation Team will tell you where to go upon arrival.

No - you will receive a blank scroll during the ceremony for photography purposes only. Your actual certificate will be posted to your home address later.

You will need to email graduation@ncl-coll.ac.uk detailing your student number and new address.

No - if you fail your degree, you will not be able to attend a Spring Graduation ceremony.

If you have already paid for tickets, you will need to contact graduation@ncl-coll.ac.uk to discuss your refund. 

Yes - your guests can arrive at the same time as you at Newcastle Civic Centre.

However, we ask that only the graduating student checks in at the registration desk, and we ask you collect your gown on your own, as the front desk can get very busy. Your guests can wait for you either in the foyer or in the park outside Newcastle Civic Centre.

Please bring your order confirmation email and all tickets purchased, either in digital or printed formats, as you will need to be checked into the venue by our Graduation Team.
