The overall aim of the new BA Honours programme is to promote opportunities to develop individual management and business acumen. The programme was developed in conjunction with local employers and previous students. The programme will add value by assisting in developing individuals’ enhanced self-awareness and self-knowledge which will allow you to acquire an integrated and strategic view of management within organisations.
It explores aspects of business, including: the factors that drive firms to develop and grow, the tools they use to market their offerings, the challenges of managing people, impact of digital technologies, the challenges of leading organisations and the promotion of the firm ethical standards that research has shown to be the foundation of enduring success in modern business.
Our BA (Hons) Business Management degree has been developed in partnership with some leading industry organisations such Handlesbanken, SFEDI solutions and PNE to name but a few. You will benefit from these industry partners with a range of work experience and industry expertise from our range of guest speaker lectures.

Students whom also complete the BA (Hons) Business Management award can also complete, The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 6 certificate in Management and Leadership. The new BA (Hons) programme now has the BA (Hons) modules mapped to CMI modules and assessments.
As part of our work ready guarantee the BA (Hons) Business Management programmes includes the embedding of the CMI award and certificate into the programme. Students who complete the BA (Hons) Business Management award can also complete, The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 6 certificate in Management and Leadership. The new BA (Hons) programme now has the BA (Hons) modules mapped to CMI modules and assessments. The CMI level 5 certificate allows you to gain a 12 month membership which enhances professional recognition as well as improving management skills.
Our BA (Hons) programme includes key staff holdings such as an associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, External Examiners at Post Graduate levels for two UK universities and an associate of the CIPD which can all support our students and allow you to gain an understanding of various organisational bodies.
Another work ready initiative we run is ‘Student as Producer’ which redefines teaching in higher education through valuing and celebrating the outputs which students create during their time at Newcastle College. Being part of Student as Producer gives you the opportunity to undertake research or research-like activities within your leadership discipline and across the college. You are also given an induction as part of your programme that assists you in building a LinkedIn professional profile.
