Enabling extension of your existing skills base and experience and wider understanding of wider HR organisational and environmental issues.

The Intermediate Diploma qualification is designed to reflect the CIPD HR Profession Map and the new professional membership criteria.

The course is for those who:

  • Those who have significant HR experince.
  • Are working in the field of HR management and development and need to extend their knowledge and skills
  • Have responsibility for implementing HR policies and strategies
  • Need to understand the role of HR in the wider organisational and environmental context

Qualification Gained

Completion of this course you will receive certification that you have completed the CIPD HUman Resource Practice Level 5 Intermediate Diploma. This provides the knowledge required for assessment for the new Associate professional level of CIPD membership. 

If you then have the relevant experience you can apply for a membership assessment (assessing your workplace activities and behaviours).

If successful with the assessment you’ll be upgraded to Professional membership grade of Associate. (Assoc CIPD) as a professional designation for you to use.

Progression Opportunities

Successful students can progress to a higher level programme in CIPD Post- Graduate Advanced Certificate/ Diploma in HRD (Level 7) and Masters in HRM.

Career Opportunities

You will have a recognised qualification which will leave you well-equipped to apply for Management roles in HRM/D with a wide range of organisations.

Entry Requirements

You need to have HR management experience and responsibility or access to HR or HRD (personnel or training) in your organisation. (Preferably you should hold the Foundation Certificate/Diploma in HRP, or Foundation Certificate/ Diploma in LDP or the legacy qualifications CPP or CTP Level 3 or other CIPD equivalent).

You should have GCSE English at Grade C.

If English is not your first language, an English language test score of 6.5 is required.

All potential students are required to have an interview with the course leader prior to start to discuss entry and experience requirements for this programme.
