Your Student Union
Our Students’ Union is run by students. As a student at Newcastle College you’ll have the opportunity to have your say and contribute to decisions about what’s going on at college.
The Students’ Union is here to represent you, ensuring you have the best college experience possible, so it’s a good idea to get connected. The Union is a fun and exciting place in the college where there’s always something happening. It’s a great place to meet new people and get involved in various types of activities. You can:
-
become an Exec officer in our union elections.
-
become a course rep or part of the student council
-
become a volunteer and get a nationally recognised certificate for your dedication
There’s also plenty of freebies, discount booklets, magazines and vouchers available in the Student Union!

We also work in Partnership with SCAN (Student Community Action Newcastle) to provide external opportunities with charities and organisations such as Radio Lollipop, Cancer Research, Hattrick Project and Macmillan.
You can gain accreditation for your efforts by working towards the nationally recognised V-Involved Certificate that is highly prized by employers and even carries UCAS points.
