Overview

Newcastle College is a division of NCG, one of the largest education, training and employability organisations in the UK. The group delivers national and regional education, skills and employment goals. As a major national provider, NCG works to develop the skills and education the economy needs for future growth. 

NCG’s purpose is to unlock potential through learning, the group objectives are to:

Key facts about NCG

  • NCG operate across all four home nations, supporting more than 20,000 business and enhancing the lives, skills and prospects of over 100,000 individuals across the UK each year.

  • NCG are a prime contractor for the Work Programme and deliver employment related services in the West Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber, the East Midlands and the East of England. In 2012/13 NCG helped almost 8,000 people back into work.

  • NCG have the largest Education Funding Agency (EFA) contract in the UK for delivering 16-18 education. The group also have the largest number of 16-18 learners of any provider, including schools. 

  • NCG have the second largest annual Skills Funding Agency Adult Skills contract in the UK at £41 million.

  • NCG are the sole training provider for the Morrisons Academy apprenticeship and training programme with one of the country's largest retailers Wm Morrison Supermarkets. 

  • NCG have been awarded Foundation Degree Awarding Powers, which means we can now develop and validate our own Foundation Degrees.
