Entry requirements

The entry requirements for our courses are defined as UK qualifications or equivalent, for example A levels for undergraduate courses and a UK degree for postgraduate courses.

We consider and review all international qualifications for all of our programmes.

Foundation programmes (Level 3)

Students are required to have completed the majority of their high school education and have a minimum of IELTS 5.0 (with no component less than 4.0) or equivalent to satisfy the English language requirements of the course. Some subjects require a minimum of IELTS 5.5 (with no component less than 4.0) and this information is listed within the course information sheet.

Undergraduate programmes (Levels 4,5,6)

Students are expected to have completed a level 3 foundation programme or equivalent and have IELTS 5.5 (with no component less than 4.0) or equivalent to satisfy the English language requirements of the course

Consideration will be given to local qualifications (for example, high school, 12th Standard) as equivalent to a level 3 foundation programme for admission to the first year of an undergraduate course.

Students who have completed a higher national diploma or foundation degree will be able to join the second or third year of a BA Honours degree course if they have IELTS 6.0 (with no component less than 5.5) or equivalent.

Postgraduate programmes (Level 7)

Students are expected to have completed their undergraduate studies or have equivalent work experience to join a postgraduate course. In exceptional circumstances, students with extensive work experience and/or a professional qualification may be considered for entry.

The English language requirements of the course expect students to have an IELTS 6.5 (with no component less than 5.5) or equivalent for our postgraduate courses with the exception of our MBA programme which requires an IELTS 6.0 (with no component less than 5.5) or equivalent.
