What is a Foundation Degree?

These two-year qualifications are exciting industry led degrees that are designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge that businesses are looking for in today’s workplace.

This qualification is broadly equivalent to the first two years (Level 4 and Level 5) of an Honours Degree. They can help towards achieving employability; prepare you for the development of professional skills in the future, or the final year of an Honours Degree.

Recognise Me

Newcastle College offers a unique online service that can enable you to study a degree course in a way that is quicker and more cost effective than traditional routes.

The new service, called ‘Recognise Me’, uses a process which allows applicants to part-time degree courses to link their previous work experience and learning to count towards their new qualification. This means that potential students can gain exemption from certain modules, which significantly reduces the cost and time taken to gain the qualification.
