Newcastle College Placement Opportunity

Immediate start - work towards a qualification and receive a bursary!

An excellent opportunity has arisen to study and learn on placement for one of the largest colleges in the region. You’ll work at Newcastle College on placement in an administration role and work towards qualifications that form part of an Apprenticeship framework that you will complete when in employment.

This six month placement is a chance to gain real work experience and skills in a range of available administration roles whilst working towards a related qualification. You will also receive a weekly bursary. 

Placement areas

There are a number of departments across the college where you may work:

  • Central Administration
  • Beauty
  • Estates 
  • Hairdressing
  • IT
  • Reception 
  • Sport

The benefits

You will: 

  • Be supported by a dedicated a personal adviser who will provide advice and guidance, help you prepare for interview and refer you onto the appropriate learning programme. 
  • Meet regularly with our Employment Gateway to prepare you for and identify suitable employment opportunities at the end of your placement where you will complete your framework.  
  • Meet regularly with your placement co-ordinator to manage your learning and development and provide independent support and guidance. 
  • Have the opportunity to apply for full-time Apprenticeship vacancies at the end of your placement.
  • Receive help in writing a CV and applying for jobs.

What's involved? 

The job roles will entirely depend on the placement you secure. You will be given direction on which placements might be suitable to you and you’ll also be dedicated a personal adviser that will assist you when it comes to securing your placement.  

Your working week will be 30 hours which includes college based teaching that will give you the skills required to succeed in the workplace.
