AM2 Centre

New AM2 Centre opens!

Newcastle College has invested £145k in a state-of-the-art AM2 Centre that will raise the standard of skilled electricians across the region. The National Electrotechnical Training (NET) approved facility is based at our Energy Academy in Wallsend and benefits from being installed with the latest equipment, setting a new standard in the region.

The AM2 is an industry assessment  that recognises an individual’s professional electrotechnical competence. As well as being a compulsory assessment for an apprentice, the test was designed to create a professional industry standard that has become the requirement for many employers when looking to recruit new electricians.
