This course is designed for people with an interest in Accountancy, but who have little or no knowledge and experience in this area. No prior learning is assumed and all subjects begin with first principles.

A broad range of topics are included on the course. You will learn the fundamentals of book-keeping, cost accounting, computerised accounting and working within an accounting environment. Our success rates are excellent, and the vast majority of our students progress to Level 3.

Course Content

At this level you will start to develop your skills in double entry bookkeeping and gain a grasp of working effectively in an accounting situation.

You will learn basic accounting principles, how to process financial transactions using manual and computerised accounting systems and basic costing methods which will be assessed using computer based assessments.

Entry Requirements

GCSE’s at grade C or above in English and Maths.

IELTS score of 6 or above in each of the assessments if English is not your first language.
An interview with the course lecturer is required before acceptance on to this Programme.
