Who the course is for

This course is aimed at people who want to become a Life coach. It will guide learners on a metaphorical journey that will provide them with a greater understanding of how they can help other people to achieve a greater sense of self-esteem, self-worth and self-empowerment. It will enable learners to understand how to ensure the client considers and achieves their identified goal (s) and changes…their dreams and ambitions.

Qualification Gained

Our course has been accredited by NCFE, an awarding organisation recognised by the qualification regulators for England (Ofqual), Wales (Qualification Wales) and Northern Ireland (CCEA Regulation).


This is an unregulated product and is not a nationally recognised qualification, but instead has been developed by us to meet the specific requirements of our learners.

Course Content

To successfully achieve the programme you must complete all four units within 3 months.
Unit 1 Personal Skills Audit and Reflective Journal
Unit 2 Introduction to Life Coaching in Practice
Unit 3 Communication Skills for Life Coaching
Unit 4 Self-Development and Future Action Plan

Throughout the programme you will gain knowledge and understanding about: the role of a life coach; the main stages in a contract of 6-8 sessions; setting up a contract; ethical and professional practice; how to plan and prepare for a life coaching session; managing a life coaching session; coaching models and theories; communication skills; how to empower a client; goals and smart actions; visual/ auditory/ kinaesthetic preferences; barriers to effective communication; keeping records; action planning; positive mental attitude; overcoming limiting beliefs; ending a contract; building a complete Life Coaching toolkit.

Throughout the  programme you will assess your own skills, abilities, values, beliefs and behaviours and then develop/ improve these. As you complete the programme you will have gained a good combination of knowledge and life coaching skills and beliefs…you will be ready to begin coaching clients on the Diploma in Life Coaching
 

Learning Methods

Your minimum input on the full course will be 60 hours (5 hours per week), completed in three months.


There are three key objectives:


1. You will need to research and read widely to gain sufficient learning, knowledge and understanding. If you prefer books then you will need to consider purchasing a selection; note you do not need to purchase books. If you prefer the internet a range of web sites, documents, learning materials and links will be provided as you work through the online site.


2. You will need to develop your communication skills and also your personal values and beliefs. If you progress to the Diploma in Life Coaching you will need to have a good level of knowledge and understanding and a good set of communication skills and appropriate values and beliefs


3. You will need to meet each unit submission date, and the agreed course end date.
 

Assessment Methods

All course materials are provided on the online platform and you will login to work through the full programme. You will learn from four units and complete a range of tasks. You complete the assessments and submit online by each monthly submission date. Each unit will be marked as a pass or a resubmission. With any resubmission a clear action plan is provided with additional time and support provided.

Progression Opportunities

On successful completion of this course you may choose to progress to the Diploma in Life Coaching (Accredited by the National Awarding Organisation NCFE). You may consider joining the Association for Coaching as an Associate Member. The Diploma course enables you to build and deliver a full life coaching service. You will need to find and coach at least two clients during the course. Together the two courses will give you an unparalleled start to becoming a Life coach.

Career Opportunities

Successful completion of this course, together with the Diploma in Life Coaching, will provide you with the skills and knowledge to become a Life coach. The knowledge and skills may also be applied in most work roles and organisations where people skills are required
