This course is aimed at providing you with the skills to gain employment within the Health and Social Care sector and is ideal if you want to enter employment in this sector.

Who the course is for

It is aimed at unemployed people who want to progress into employment. Many people who attend our courses have been unemployed for a significant length of time and need support to enter employment.
Our staff are very supportive and are aware of the barriers that you may face. You will be supported in every aspect of the course to help you succeed and gain a new qualification.

Course Content

Within the course the following is covered:


• Safeguarding in adult health and social care.
• Dignity within adult health and social care practice.
• Duty of care in adult health and social care.
• Dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care
 

There is the potential to have an interview with one of our employers on successful completion of the course for local jobs.

Learning Methods

This is a practical course where you will learn through a combination of practical activities combined with taught sessions.
You will participate in group work and individual activities.
 

Assessment Methods

There are no exams. You will complete a workbook and be assessed through some practical activities.

Progression Opportunities

You can progress into employment or onto one of our other employability courses.

Career Opportunities

You can gain employment within the Health and Social Care sector as a care assistant or domiciliary care worker.

Entry Requirements

You do not need any qualifications to enrol to this course but you will need a basic level of spoken and written English.
