Assessment Methods

You will be assessed through assignments, observations of your work as an assessor, workplace visits and on a portfolio of evidence.

Progression Opportunities

You could progress to the Certificate in Assessment and Quality Assurance. You could also progress on to Teaching qualifications in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

This will help you in your career and may help you win promotion. You will be qualified to assess learners' progress within your curriculum area.

Entry Requirements

You must hold at least a Level 3 qualification in the areas in which you are to be an assessor, however, extensive vocational experience can also be accepted in some circumstances.

Ideally, you must have access to students on the programme you wish to assess, have an experienced assessor and an experienced verifier to mentor you through the qualification and support your assessment decisions. However, it may be possible for the College to provide access to learners and qualified and experienced members of staff to support you through this qualification.

If English is not your first language, you will require an IELTS score of 7.00 or above.
