Overview

The aim of this course is to introduce digital photography to beginners and students who wish to explore the use of their digital cameras and expand their knowledge of general photograph taking.

This course is ideal if you are new to using a digital camera.

Course Content

All students study:

  • How to use your digital camera
  • What is digital photography
  • Range of creative exercises and techniques
  • Introduction to using digital software to create and manipulate your photos.

Learning Methods

The course centres on providing students with the necessary skills to use their own digital camera and provides basic techniques to use produce digital imagery. This is a beginners course and provides an introduction to using this software to produce a professional outcomes.

Assessment Methods

Formative assessment is used to assess your progress on the course .You will put together a small portfolio of work, evidencing the learning outcomes for this unit.

Progression Opportunities

You could continue your studies by progressing to a range of complementary software short courses within the Adobe Creative Suite CS5.

Career Opportunities

Previous students have progressed onto other courses which lead to progression in employment across a range of disciplines.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry qualifications are needed for this course however experience using a digital camera and associated software would be an advantage.
