Start Date: Various Duration: 20 weeks Class Days/Times: Various / Various Venue: Work/home | |
This qualification is aimed at
- Experienced Business and Executive Coaches
- HR professionals, managers, trainers and team leaders who have experience in business coaching
- Life Coaches who have had experience in business coaching
To successfully achieve the qualification you must complete five modules
Module 1 - Me and My Coaching Leadership
This module provides information about the skills, behaviours and mindsets needed by excellent coaches. It looks at Emotional Intelligence (EI) and discusses how an individual’s EI can impact on others. EI progress is analysed in terms of self awareness, self management, awareness of others and managing others with Psychological Projection, Counter Transference and Inspiration and Transference being explored as aspects of EI.
Module 2 – Tough Love Coaching
This module provides an understanding of the relationship between effective coaching and the ‘Stretch Zone’ where the coachee is kept on track towards their own defined goal by being ‘stretched’ out of their comfort zone and encouraged to overcome any limiting beliefs that may be obstructing their progress. Rapport is examined in terms of building a trusting relationship with the coachee. The importance of quality feedback to generate a ‘safe space’ for the coachee and maintain a trusting relationship between the coach and coachee is also explored.
Module 3 – The Principal Instruments of Coaching
This module concentrates on the Principal Instruments of coaching, (questions, challenge and silence), focusing on how the application of these principal instruments can help the coachee meet their defined targets. The module looks at the value of different coaching models, examining GROW and STEPPPA models, requiring the learner to review the strengths and weaknesses of a coaching model of their choice. The learner will explore how much support should be employed within the learner’s / coach’s sessions, the value of coaching interventions within these sessions and consider when mentoring may be more appropriate than coaching.
Module 4 – Managing Psychological States
This module looks at managing psychological states and will help the learner to understand the link between the coachee’s emotion and their motivation. It looks at how the learner / coach should be aware of the coachee’s level of connectedness, discussing where the clues to this can be found. The learner will explore the links between emotions and the mind with a view to discovering how to manage emotion. Hot language is also discussed with particular reference to their impact on the coachee’s emotions and insights into the associated physiology that can be manifested when hot language is used.
Module 5 – Reflective Language
This module focuses on bringing together all of the learner’s skills with particular focus on reflective language and the wheel of work. The learner will be asked to consider the application of reflective language within their coaching sessions and also in informal situations. The use of metaphors within a coaching session will be explored and the learner / coach will gain some insight into the value of encouraging the coachee to use metaphors to bring about positive change. The wheel of work is introduced as an effective tool within organisations to discover a coachee’s motivators and de-motivators.
