Choosing the right qualification....
Employability courses
Our employability courses are a beginners level qualification designed to give you the confidence to return to work and develop the skills you need to stand out in the job market. Employability courses are free if you receive jobseekers allowance, employment support allowance or inactive benefits.
Vocational courses
Diplomas, BTECs and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are practical courses which are particularly good if you’re looking for a career-focused course or to gain an accredited qualification for an interest that you have. Lots of the teaching is through project work and taught by tutors with industry experience.
Access to HE
An HE Access course or HEFC is ideal for mature learners who have been away from education for a while and need the qualifications to meet the entry requirements for higher education. On successful completion of your access course or HEFC you may want to study for a Foundation Degree or Honours Degree at Newcastle College or apply to a different university - when you get the grades you always wanted, the options for your future are endless.
Professional accredited qualifications
Develop your career with a professional qualification from the CIPD, ILM or CIM. Choose from courses that are preferred and valued by employers in human resources, management or marketing. Many employers support professional development so this could be the ideal route for you.
