Support and advice

At Newcastle College we are committed to offering you high quality student support and to giving you the help you need to achieve your full potential whatever your goals are.

Our Student Services team are Matrix accredited, the quality standard for Information, Advice and Guidance and our Student Advisers, based in Student Services can give you advice on course choices and careers. They can also advise and check on your eligibility for FREE or discounted study and inform you about any financial support you may be entitled to. Alternatively go to our financial support section to see the range of options available to those aged 19 and over.

The Learning Support Service (LSS) at Newcastle College provides support, advice and guidance for students with a wide range of learning needs. Please see the Support section for further details.

Childcare

If you have children aged 0-4 years old, our day nursery provides a friendly and welcoming environment and is conveniently located on our Rye Hill Campus. Staff are well qualified and regularly attend further training courses and the nursery is well equipped with an excellent range of resources. Places are allocated on a first come first served basis, to check availability please speak to Student Services on 0191 200 4000.

Support with personal issues

If you have a problem which is affecting your learning we can refer you to a range of specialist agencies that can support you, depending on the nature of your problem. You can speak to a member of Learning Support, a Learning Mentor or Student Adviser if you would like to access this support.
