Whether you are looking to turn a hobby into paid employment or you are already working in the industry and want that all important qualification, you have come to the right place. You will be passionate about food and giving customers a truly exceptional experience.

Studying in our Lifestyle Academy, a specialist training facility dedicated to developing professional chefs and front of house staff, you will have access to five training kitchens as well as our on-site restaurant, The Chef's Academy, and student bistro.

Our course tutors have many years experience working in the industry, giving you the tricks of the trade to really make your mark.

Skills Bootcamp in Hospitality and Catering Principles: Chef - Level 3

"I wanted to gain the qualifications that would be needed for a managerial position. I know this course isn’t offered widely, especially in the North East, so I wanted to take the opportunity to explore my passion for cooking through this degree."

Daily tasks:

Makes cake decorations, spreads icing, fillings and toppings on products.
Bakes bread, pastry and cakes.
Fills and glazes pastry, mixes ingredients for cakes.
Rolls and cuts pastry, stretches, kneads and moulds dough to form bread, rolls and buns.
Mixes ingredients using hand or machine to obtain the required consistency.
Weighs ingredients according to recipe.
