Study construction part-time at Newcastle College

Delivered by the School of Construction, Engineering and Science at Newcastle College, we have a range of part-time courses for those with minimal or no experience, these courses are ideal if you would like to gain more experience in the construction industry or are considering a career change.

Students studying construction are encouraged to develop their skills to a professional level. With an emphasis on practical work and projects, students will develop skills in construction to a professional standard.

New AM2 Centre opens!

Newcastle College has invested £145k in a brand new state-of-the-art AM2 Centre that will raise the standard of skilled electricians across the region.


Based at the Construction Skills Academy, students have access to modern equipment and will learn in a replica construction site. Facilities include:

  • A Construction Skills Academy in Low Walker
  • Dedicated facilities for bricklaying, plastering, floor and tiling, roofing and scaffolding
  • Construction workshops at our main campus which simulate site conditions
  • Computer aided design (CAD) facilities.
