Rafal Proszowski - Level 3 Extended Diploma IT

Rafal Proszowski moved to England from Poland in 2006 to study A Levels. After leaving school he soon realised he wanted to study a qualification that would prepare him for a successful career in the IT industry.

Rafal came along to an Open Evening at Newcastle College where he was able to discuss his options with course tutors who recommended starting with the First Diploma in IT as it covered a broad range of topics, all relevant to the IT industry. The course is delivered three days a week so Rafal was also able to fit his other commitments around his study time.

Rafal says:

“The college has great facilities and the latest software packages to help us with our learning. The college tutors are really good and their attitude was always to help me be the best that I can be.”

Upon successful completion of his course Rafal’s tutors advised he progressed to a higher qualification in IT, the Extended Diploma in IT, which would allow him to gain more experience, a better understanding and greater knowledge of the IT sector.

The practical training has given him a real insight into what is required to successfully work in the IT industry. In addition Rafal feels the course has given him an understanding of planning, working to deadlines and being able to discipline himself which he feels will help him in his future career. After completing the Extended Diploma Rafal was successful in securing his first job in IT with Sunderland based company, Surreal Creative.

Rafal wouldn't hesitate to recommend the college to others:

“I would highly recommend studying at Newcastle College, I can honestly say it was the best years of my life and I would definitely do it all again. The course at Newcastle College has helped me to get the career I wanted.”
